FFMPEG is a collection of libraries that allows applications to process video files in a variety of codecs. Common uses for this would be uploading video to your WordPress site, and encoding the video to a specific resolution to save on disk space and bandwidth. FFMPEG is installed and available to use on all of our hosting systems. The FFMPEG binary version is provided by our Linux package installer, and unfortunately it's not possible to change this on our shared hosting systems for standardisation purposes, however this can be changed on our dedicated hosting servers.
