Your hosting account has a main (primary) domain — the domain the cPanel account was created with. If you’ve rebranded or moved to a new domain name, we can change the main domain for you.

How to request the change

Changing the primary domain on a cPanel account is done by our team to make sure everything is updated cleanly. To request it:
  1. Log in to the Hosting Panel at https://clients.stablepoint.com.
  2. Open a support ticket.
  3. Include:
    • The current main domain
    • The new main domain
    • Whether the new domain should keep the existing website content
We’ll make the change and confirm once done — usually very quickly.

What to check after the change

  • DNS: point the new domain to our nameservers (or set its A record to your server IP).
  • SSL: a certificate for the new domain is issued automatically once DNS resolves; check SSL/TLS Status in cPanel.
  • Application URLs: update your application’s site URL. For WordPress: Settings → General, update both WordPress Address and Site Address, and run a search-replace for old URLs in content (WP-CLI: wp search-replace 'olddomain.com' 'newdomain.com').
  • Email accounts: mailboxes exist per domain. Create the mailboxes on the new domain, and set up forwarders from the old addresses if you’re keeping the old domain during a transition.
  • Old domain redirect: if you keep the old domain pointed at us, add a 301 redirect from old to new so visitors and search engines follow.
Changing the main domain does not affect your billing, plan, or files — only the domain the account is addressed by.
