Enhance includes a built-in incremental backup system that protects your websites, databases, and email automatically.
How backups work
Backups on Enhance are incremental — after the first full snapshot, only changes are stored. This makes backups fast, frequent, and storage-efficient. Snapshots are taken automatically on a regular schedule.
Viewing available backups
- Log in to your Enhance control panel.
- Select the website you want to manage.
- In the left sidebar, click Backups.
You’ll see a list of available snapshots with their dates.
Restoring a full website
- In the Backups section, find the snapshot you want.
- Click Restore.
- Confirm the restore.
A full restore replaces the website’s current files and database with the versions in the snapshot. Any changes made after the snapshot date will be lost.
Granular restore
One of Enhance’s strongest features is granular restore — you can restore individual items instead of the whole site:
- Individual files or folders — browse the snapshot’s file tree and restore just what you need.
- A single database — restore the database without touching files.
- A single email account — restore a mailbox without affecting the website.
This is ideal when you’ve accidentally deleted one file or a plugin update broke the database, but the rest of the site is fine.
Best practices
- Check that a recent snapshot exists before major updates (WordPress core updates, theme changes, bulk imports).
- For business-critical sites, consider also keeping an off-server copy: download important files periodically or use an S3-compatible backup integration.
- Test a restore occasionally so you know the process before you need it urgently.
