# How to fix contact form not working

In order for a contact form to work properly, we recommend installing an SMTP plugin like WP Mail SMTP or similar. The quick guide below is for this plugin, but the setup is pretty much similar if you prefer to use a different one.

**Step 1:** Create the email account in cPanel -> Email Accounts (if not already created). See [Creating an email account](/email/email/creating-an-email-account).

**Step 2:** Install and configure the SMTP plugin (WP Mail SMTP -> Settings).

**Step 3:** Test the settings to make sure everything is working correctly.
