# What databases do we provide?

We provide MySQL (MariaDB) databases with all of our hosting packages. These can be [created in your cPanel account](/web-hosting/databases/creating-mysql-databases-and-users). We do not limit the number of databases you can create.

Almost all common website applications (including WordPress and Joomla) use a MySQL database for their data.

## Other database formats

If you require a MongoDB database, we recommend using [MongoDB Atlas](https://www.mongodb.com/cloud-database/benefits). They have a free tier which you can connect to remotely.

We do not provide PostgreSQL.

We do not provide MSSQL databases or MSSQL Express. These are Windows database formats.
