# Can I enable cPanel's 2FA feature?

Yes — cPanel's two-factor authentication (2FA) feature is available on our hosting and we recommend enabling it. With 2FA on, logging in to cPanel requires both your password and a time-based code from an authenticator app, so a stolen password alone isn't enough to access your account.

## Enabling 2FA in cPanel

1. Log in to cPanel.
2. In the **Security** section, click **Two-Factor Authentication**.

3. Click **Set Up Two-Factor Authentication**.
4. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app on your phone, such as:
   * Google Authenticator
   * Microsoft Authenticator
   * Authy
   * 1Password or Bitwarden (built-in TOTP)
5. Enter the 6-digit code the app shows to confirm.
6. Click **Configure Two-Factor Authentication**.

From now on, cPanel logins ask for a current 6-digit code after your password.

## Important notes

* **2FA covers cPanel logins.** FTP, SSH, and email clients authenticate separately and are not affected by this setting.
* **Logging in from the Hosting Panel:** if you use the **Login to Control Panel** button in your Stablepoint client area, that single-sign-on route continues to work — protect your client-area login with its own 2FA too (see [Managing your profile in the Hosting Panel](/accounts-billing/billing-accounts/managing-your-profile-in-the-hosting-panel)).

## If you lose your 2FA device

If you lose access to your authenticator app, contact our support team. After we verify your identity, we can remove the 2FA configuration so you can log in and set it up again on a new device.

## Disabling 2FA

Go back to **Two-Factor Authentication** in cPanel and click **Remove Two-Factor Authentication**. We recommend keeping it enabled unless you have a specific reason not to.
