# JetBackup 5

JetBackup 5 is the latest version of the backup software we use on our shared and reseller hosting platform. It provides self-service backup restores directly from your cPanel account.

## Accessing JetBackup 5

1. Log in to your cPanel account.
2. In the search field, type **JetBackup** or scroll to the **JetBackup** section.
3. The JetBackup 5 tools appear.

## Available restore points

We keep multiple restore points for your account. The number of available snapshots depends on your hosting plan, but typically daily backups are retained for a rolling window.

## What you can restore

JetBackup 5 lets you restore:

* **Full account backups** — restore everything at once
* **Home directory / files** — browse the backup and restore individual files or folders
* **Databases** — restore individual MySQL databases
* **Email accounts** — restore individual mailboxes
* **DNS zones** — restore your DNS zone files
* **SSL certificates** — restore certificates

## Performing a restore

1. Open the relevant JetBackup section (for example, **File Backups** or **Database Backups**).
2. Select the backup date you want to restore from.
3. Select the items to restore.
4. Click **Restore** (or **Download** if you want a local copy instead).
5. The restore is added to the queue. You can monitor progress in the **Queue** section.

<Note>
  Restores overwrite the current version of the restored items. If you're unsure, use the Download option first to keep a copy of the current state.
</Note>

If you need a backup from a date that is no longer listed, please contact our support team and we will check the archives for you.
